Hellooooooooooo!
So last week we went on our retreat to Tallaght and it was totes emosh! We all got into groups that we were comfortable talking in front of and were given a list of questions to answer. One question that had us all in tears was the 'most difficult time of our lives'. :'( Although it was really hard I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and happier.
On Friday we had La Glas. Our years theme was Leperchauns so we all had to dress up like them. Out of my class I went down to represent us in the parade along with Orla Conway and Abbie Keegan. Over all in our year Orla won but we all got easter eggs anyways :D

Tomorrow we are going on a short retreat in Kildare village, then going for lunch at whitewater shopping centre and then bowling :)

Hellooooooooooo!

Recently we went into town with the rest of the T.Y.'s to participate in Lollipop day! We got into groups of four (I was with Shannon Farrelley, Daina Hosty and Aisling Cunniffe) and then we were assigned different places around Grafton Street. We got hats and tshirts to show we where collecting for charity. We also had boxes that held the lollipops, badges and money.

We had to work in shifts so we could get lunch and Shannon and I took our lunch first. We decided to take full advantage of the fact we were in Town and popped into Abercrombie to get a picture (or two) with the models ;) It was fuuuuuuuuuuun

It was a good experiance and over the course of the day I really gained confidence talking to the people and convincing them to donate. By the end of our time I was nearly following people down the street!

Im excited for this Thursday because were going to Intel for a day about different careers. Intel have been kind enough to fund this trip for us so im looking forward to this great oppurtunity to learn mor about future careers :D

Hellooooooooooooo!
This week we had the Sci-fest competition in science. Im in a group with Orla Sweeney and Ciara Walsh. Our project is to Investigate the Affects of Various Cooking Methodson Vitamin C Levels. We choose broccoli as the food we would test. We've been doing this project since the end of September and have been working very hard to finsh our report books and our posters. We were seen by all four judges that were there on the day and they all asked us a few questions on the experiment and research we did.
They were all very interested by the chemical we used to test for vitamin c, called DCPIP. This is because it is used in a Leaving Cert practical and so is the formulas we used to get our results.
In the end we were very happy because we got through in the top ten to go on for the competition in Tallaght! We also found out that we actually came third and won a little key-ring :D

All in all last week was a very good week :)
helloooooooooo!
Recently in Religion we have been doing projects on conflict. I worked in a group with Shannon Farrelley and Daina. We choose to do World War 2 as our conflict and picked a small section of it to focus on. We decided to do the Haloucaust as we've always found that to be the most interesting part of the war.

We did our project on prezi and found out alot of interesting information. Did you know that one of the reasons that Hitler didnt like Jews was because he did not get accepted into a mostly Jewish Univerdity and thought him not being a jew was the reason why? Ghettos were the name given to areas that the Nazis had taken over and forced all the Jews out of.
A a result of the Holocaust around six million jews were killed. Thats one and a half times the population of Ireland! Over one million of these were young, innocent children. One good thing though, was that this led to the formation of the United Nations which has helped stop a lot of other conflicts around the world.

This is a star of David that Jews were forced to wear so people would know who they were.

This was the the gate of Auschwitz, one of the biggest concentration camps during WW2.

Hoallaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
This week we made cheesecake in Home Ec. I was cooking with Shannon and we decided to do a jaffacake flavoured cheesecake which ended up tasting horriable :/ It was very sad but we had cake to cheer us up though because it was Shannons birthday.
After the cake we had to go get into our tracksuits for a workshop called Jabba Jabba Jembee. It was loads of fun because we got to play the drums and loads of percussion instruments :D  It was done by a guy called David who was really cool and had lived in Ghana in Africa for a couple of years.

Howayaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Boiiiissssssssssssss?!!!!!!
So this week we found out who got through to the next stage of the mini-company competition. It wasnt us :( I dont know how but we didnt get through. In the words of Honey Boo Boo child "them judges dont know a good thang when they see it" So instead of us Hair Couture and Williams Words are going through. We were quite disapointed but we got over it. Now in business we are going to be making a cereal box.

This week we made risotto in Home Ec and that tasted really good. We had a few mishaps like forgetting the chicken and dropping the rashers but we got there in the end :)

Hoalaaaaaaaa,
This week was very busy as yesterday we had the presentation of our Mini-Companies :D It was very hectic as we were all trying to plan our stands in the hall to impress the judges. The mini company that Im involved with is Stuzic and we decided to get a lot of our decorations professionally made to make sure that they would be of a very high standard. Luckily we were short-listed along with three others from our group to hopefully go on to the Kildare final. :D We are still writing and recording more songs for our app and CD. Soon the app should be on the itunnes store so everyone will be able to buy it :)

Our Junk Kouture is now OVER! Before Christmas our class went to a ballet were they danced the Nutcracker Suite and a Christmas Story. It was really good and there were a few girls from our school that were dancing in it.

Hoalaaaaaaaa,
The last Friday of school (before the midterm) we had to dress up as zombies for Halloween. It was good craic and Aisling C and Emma G looked like very zombiish zombies. Emma was chosen as our classes best dressed so at lunch she had to go down to the hall to be in a small parade with everyother classes best dressed. Sadly Emma did not win and so didnt get sweets (which I would have eaten) :'(
I've been enjoying T.Y. imensley but i'm looking forward to the mid term break. During the week we continued on with all our different projects and I have a history project on County Roscommon that's due after the midterm.

Hoalaaaaaa,
Last week was pretty uneventful but like usuall we were working away with all our projects. Starting with our junk kouture, we more or less finished most of our dress so now were looking for ways to add to it and improve it. We're adding sequance and beads to it to make it brighter and more colourfull. We also have to finish the head piece that we started last week. In art we also planned and tested out our make-up ideas and face paint.
We also properly started our tech projects for f1 in schools which is a competition in all schools registered to design and plan an F1 race car that will be able to be manufactured and raced to find the winner. Daina, Shannon and I are in a group together and Im the team manager. We're nearly finished and will be entering our project by Friday.

We are also starting a new Geography project about different countries in the world. Myself, Shannon and Aisling are in a group and we have to pick two first world countries, two second world countries and two third world countries. Im doing India and France. France has to be done on a power point and India on a poster.

We are also starting a religion project on poverty and i'm with Daina and Shannon. We are doing it on an american footballer who was homeless and inspired the movie 'The Blind Side'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA56LqFszYI

Hoalaaaaa!
Last week was quite uneventfull but my junk Kouture group got lots of work done on our dress. So far our bodice is nearly finshed we just have to do a small tree design on the back and we are finitoooe! Then I can put it on and and lace it up into a corset with ribbon. We also have to start working on the skirt of the dress during the midterm next week which will be made out of two tutu's sowen together with starched material in each pleat, with a celtic design on it. We also have to start making the shoes, hat and accesories.
In technology we've been making clocks which isn't that fun because I did it in second year because I did tech for my Junior Cert but hopefully we'll be doing our formula1 projects soon which should be good craic in our groups.
Im also looking forward to my fifth Wednesday of work experiance tomorrow. Im doing my placement in a boy's primary school near where I live. So far I've been doing mostly office work but I did get to help a junior infants class with their Autumn and Halloween artwork.
On Friday we have to dress up as Zombies for Halloween so that'll be funny to see everyone.
Thats really all thats happened this week so..... byeeeeeeeee.

Carlingford

Hoalaaaaaaaa
Last Monday, all the T.Y. students went to Carlingford in Co. Louth. Twas prettty cool. We stayed in the Carlingford Adventure Centre. On the Monday we had to be at esso garage for 7am. In the morning. When i should have still been warm and cosey in bed :/ It took about an hour and a half to get there and we watched Rapunzel on the bus. Whatta movie :) I want a pet chamelleon called Pascal now.
When we got there we divided into our rooms that we would "sleep" in that night. I was in a room of 12 so you could probably guess how loud we were! Our first activity was kyaking. It was really fun and Daina was my partner. We had to wear wetsuits and life-jackets. We were looking well lads. It was really cold but so worth it. Especially when ewe got to jump in the water and swim! I also held my head under a waterfall for 10 seconds which means that im going to live a WHOLE DAY LONGER!!! YEAAAAHHHH BUDDDY!!!
We moved on to the high ropes after a yummy lunch of sausage rolls. NUUUUUUUMMM. I ate mine and Aideens :P. We had to climb a 30 foot pole and four of us had to balance on a pizza sized box on the top and lean back to form a flower shape. I nearly wet myself.
We then got dinner. Which was horrible. I didnt eat it and anyone who knows me knows im not one to turn down food. It was that bad! EUUURRRRRGGGHHHH.
Then we went on a lovely blindfolded night walk were i succede in whacking my head off every tree in a very big forest. Such Crack. Not.
After that though we got CHIIIIIIPEEEEERR! Nummm chicken snackbox :) I then changed into my tiger onesie and strutted around the whole center. Howaya Lads. Then we went to our rooms and ate loadssss of sweeeetieeees before finally collapsing on our beds.
The next morning I had hot chocolate for breakfast and we went
